On this page is a drawing of a mother Brown Bear or Grizzly with her two cubs. Grizzly cubs will remain with their mother for 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 years. A female Grizzly mates once every 3 to 5 years. When the cubs are old enough they will be on there own to forage for berries, roots, bulbs and nuts, or hunt for animals large and small whether it be deer and elk or fish, small rodents, even insects.
